Every year, the scale of scientific and technological exchanges with "the Belt and Road" countries (regions) exceeds 20000 person times, and nearly 400 international academic conferences are held every year. A total of 318 young visiting scholars and doctors from developing countries were selected and supported. Later, the Chinese Academy of Sciences paid a working visit, and 540 foreign students were recruited to study for doctoral degrees in the Chinese Academy of Sciences. A cooperation mechanism with major scientific research institutions in key countries (regions) of the "the Belt and Road" has been established, and substantive cooperation has been carried out in personnel training and exchange, consultation and suggestion, project cooperation, achievement transfer and transformation, etc. In addition, international platforms for cooperation with "the Belt and Road" countries (regions) have been established through the Academy of Sciences of developing countries (Twas), UNESCO, ICSU and SCO, such as Twas regional office, Twas young scientists network, two UNESCO International Class II centers, two ICSU international project offices and the Dean's forum of the Academy of Sciences of Shanghai Cooperation Organization

3 strategic objectives and principles of action
